The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) sounded the alarm with their most serious warning yet about the challenges we face because of climate change. Their new synthesis report came out on Sunday, summarizing findings released in working group reports from earlier this year. Watch this ordinary guy drive home a couple of the report’s basic points:

To get a bit more specific, here’s a key takeaway from the report: We must switch to mostly renewables by 2050, and phase out fossil fuels by 2100.

And another equally vital point: We already have the answers we need – we have the technologies already, and economic growth won’t be strongly affected if we take action – all we need is the will to change.
