10% Climate & Energy Challenge Workshop: Cut your CO2 Footprint

Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 12:00 - 15:00

The “10% Challenge” is about cutting carbon dioxide (and other greenhouse gases) by 10%...or more. Cutting 10% is an achievable goal, and is in line with what scientists say we need right now. Climate science tells us that emissions cuts made now are more valuable than those made later, and reducing emissions by 10% beginning this year is the kind of target that will give us the best chance of averting the worst effects of climate change.

Beginning on October 10th (10/10/10) Maine Interfaith Power and Light will offer home owners and congregations special workshops to provide the necessary tools and information to easily and quickly cut carbon emissions by 10%. Participants will learn how to conduct an energy assessment of their home and congregation, and access special programs to help with energy efficiency upgrades. With assistance from Efficiency Maine, this free 3 hour workshop will provide the necessary tools to save money and energy in congregations, homes and businesses.

Oct 10th: Portland, ME, Woodfords Church @ 12 noon.
