10 Tips and 10 Minutes from Willow Bend
Friday, 8 October, 2010 - 10:50 - 11:00
Willow Bend Elementary School is located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. We have a very diverse population of children. We have over 400 students kindergarten thru sixth grade. One of the clubs offered to students in grades 3-6 is the Green Team. About 40 students meet twice a month to learn about "being green". Throughout the year we sponsor and promote school wide events to help teach and encourage others to be green. We are so excited to join 350.org's campaign again. In keeping with the 10-10-10 theme we decided to create GREEN TIPS to share with the students on the morning announcements. One tip a day is being shared for the 10 days leading up to the big event. On the last day (which is the Friday before 10-10-10) the entire school will be turning off the lights for 10 minutes. We are so excited to be spreading the word and taking part of this big event!
