10/10/10 earth day celebration

UMGENI VALLEY NATURE RESERVE will be hosting a event to celebrate climate change solutions
This day will be fun filled with lots of activities for the whole family that will include: Signing of “Carbon Handprint Tunnel” for Posterity, Solar cooked lunch, organic food stalls, picnic at the pines, nature walks, making zebra poop paper, competitions, tractor rides & lots more.
People are invited to bring their recycling; an indigenous tree to plant; bicycle ride to ride around the reserve.
We are also hosting a competition for schools. School learners are to take a photograph with either a camera or cellphones of an example of how anybody is reducing their carbon footprint. Pictures can be emailed to email@example.com or mms to 072 620 9744 or posted to the Umgeni Valley Environmental Education Centre group on Facebook. There are great prizes to be won. School pupil can enter as a class or as a school but not individuals. Closing date for entries is 08 October 2010 and Judging will take place on 10.10.10 during the Earth day event.
