350 Athletes
Elite and professional athletics are at often at odds with a movement for sustainability, green global practices, or reductions in anything. Narcissism rules in sport.
350.org is shooting for 350 exceptions to the rule. The 350athletes have pledged their support--through their actions, voices, and notoriety, these athletes are backing the movement to move us back to 350 ppm. We're already collecting superstars: many have taken steps to reduce their own carbon footprints and the carbon footprints of their respective sports. All of these athletes seen here are pushing the number. Check back often as the team grows.
If you feel the rush of adrenaline from seeing these hardcore athletes tackle the 350ppm goal, put it to use! Take action alongside them through the 350 Sports global project.

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
