World Community is sponsoring the local initiative asking residents to pledge to shift $10/week of their grocery budget from imported/processed food to local sustainable food for one year.

If 5,000 people follow through on this it means the equivalent of almost 50 cars removed from the roads for a year and creates 5 local jobs.

We are partnering with local non-profits, farmers markets, businesses and events. We joined 30 Day Local Food Challenge at many events, were at the Nautical Days parade in Comox on August 2nd and our next event will be at the Merville Hall on August 21st. You can pledge at Brambles Market, Tannadice Farms, and LUSH Valley Food Action Society Hub. Watch for other locations and events on the web site and Facebook.
