A Need to Weed
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 09:00 - 11:00
For over a decade Pinakarri Community has grown vegies and fruit trees on the verge. We're currently harvesting lettuces, spinach, kohlrabi, the last of the rocket, herbs and more fresh vegies for community dinners and personal use. The mulberry tree is drooping with the weight of purple fruit plumping up in sun, and it's lovely to see local kids, passers-by and the postman enjoy the crop. Another verge is used for mulching and composting for all to see, a commitment to recover resources and minimise the waste that leaves the site. And another verge celebrates local flora, natives of the coastal limestone ridge of Western Australia. The wild oats like it too.
So we have a need to weed! Come and join us for a while this Sunday. We'll be weeding between 9-11am, then brunch will be served for all Global Work Party revellers. Photographer from local paper will arrive at 10.30am. For more info about Need to Weed contact Robyn: firstname.lastname@example.org
