Climate Change Youth Action
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 (All day)
We will be planting Mangrove Trees on October 10, 2010. We are expecting more than 2,000 students/partners to work on us that day to plant trees and continue the work of our growing climate movement in the area. It would be a great, fun day!
What makes this event USEFUL?
Here are some of its importance, to wit:
1.) Mangroves protect shorelines from erosion;
2.) Mangroves take more carbon than any other trees, one of the most effective trees for carbon off-setting and in combating climate change;
3.) Mangroves serve as valuable nursery areas for fish and invertebrates;
4.) Mangroves Support Threatened and Endangered Species;
5.) among others.
