Garden Expansion and Waste Water Reuse

Sunday, 10 October, 2010 (All day)

For the 10-10-10 Global Work This fall we have decided to expand the garden and we are now in the process of doing so. We will utilize our sloping hill at the back of the school where with the assistance of parents we will use lumber recycled from an old dock to build a 3 tiered garden that is more than four times the garden space we started with last year! We should be able to sell some produce if all grows well. We are channeling our waste water from the sink to the garden and already put bricks in the toilets to reduce water usage so we will have more to water our huge garden! We catch rain water from our roofs to store in cisterns to use. This has definitely been a drought year for us! The soil has been donated and will be put in so that we will be able to plant our seeds on the full moon.
