Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will go to China
The New York Times is reporting that newly appointed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will go to China as her first trip abroad. One of the issues that will be discussed, according to the NYTimes, is climate. China's total greenhouse gas emissions recently surpassed US emissions, making it one of the world's biggest culprits in international debates. Though Chinese per-capita emissions are much less than those of the US, fast development and a move towards coal-fired power has put China in the spotlight. That has led some climate pundits to claim that there won't be a Copenhagen agreement if China doesn't commit to signing it.
