Event Host: Introduction: In 2004, Hakfar Hayarok made the first steps towards becoming an experimental youth village, with the support of the Entrepreneurial Department of the Ministry of Education. The basic concepts of the experimental youth village are being developed according to the educational approach of the village: humane and democratic education, tolerance, acceptance of the environment, and connection to the land. That type of youth village is concerned with enabling the building of the person’s identity, one who is capable of dealing with changes, make decisions and comprehend their meaning and consequences. The experiment aims to convert Hakfar Hayarok into a youth village concerned with developing an environmental-social leadership which provides educational services, values and culture to the surrounding community. Objectives:1.Building and developing a youth leadership, designated to position the relationship between man and his environment at the center of the public agenda. 2.Converting the farm into an academic lab which will function as a main source of empowerment, development of the student’s abilities, socialization and construction of the personal identity. 3.Intensifying the connection between the village and the surrounding communities, and recognizing the specific elements of the village’s agricultural foundations that are able to serve and enrich the urban community’s ability to deal with environmental-social issues, such as: restoring and preserving the environment, the person's and the community’s welfare , etc
