Dawn launch of Oct 24th
Saturday, 24 October, 2009 - 06:00
Come and be part of the international launch of October 24th - and yes it's happening right here in Wellington! As the first to see the light on this incredible day we have a big responsibility to kick it off in style - with karakia and massive drums! The BBC and CNN will be using the footage.
Here's the plan:
When: Dawn - arrive at 6am, in time for the sun to rise at 6.19am
Where: At the Brooklyn windmill - with the best view over Wellington
What: A ceremony with karakia and blessings to kick off the global day of action, symbolically under the windmill, which will be adorned with THE number 350, and then followed by drumming on some excessively large and cool drums.
So it's early aye, but don't let that be an excuse because a) the weather is set to be perfect for it and b) we'll do pick ups from the corner of Aro St and Ohiro Rd at 5.30am. Email aaron@350.org if you're keen for a pick up!
It'll be such a great way to start the days festivities.
