Bluestone Farm Work Party!

Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 13:30 - 16:00

Home-grown food is yummy! And supporting local food is an important way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build local resiliency in the face of climate change. Come volunteer with us as we get to work on the farm and participate in the Global Work Party sponsored by 350.org.

Join us at Bluestone Farm and Living Arts Center, in Brewster, NY from 1:30 - 4:00 pm Sunday.
1:30 pm Start - Welcome, introductions, and apple crisp (made with our own apples)

1:45 pm Work - Volunteer in the garden. We'll be getting ready for winter--pulling weeds, clearing beds, adding amendments, and covering the soil with leaves. If the weather's rainy, there's plenty to do indoors to help with seed sorting and saving for next season.

3:50 pm Photo - Take group photo to send to 350.org.

4:00 pm - For those who want to participate, we'll offer 10 minutes of silent meditation and a closing song in the chapel.

Please RSVP for the work party so we know how many people to expect for apple crisp :)
