Ride to Worship week esp 10th October
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 (All day)
Cycle to your place of worship with people right across Australia during
the week of Saturday 9th to Friday 15th October. Cycling is healthy, it’s
fun, and it is one way we can reduce our contribution to climate change –
showing our care for the planet, and our concern for the poor who are most
affected by climate change. You can take part in Ride to Worship Week as
an individual, with family and friends, and even encourage your whole place
of worship to participate by cycling or use other environmentally-friendly
forms of transport. See the Ride to Worship Week webpage for more
information. Resources/templates to help you are available (e.g.
powerpoint presentation, poster, template announcement, leaflet on
everything you need to know about riding to worship).
Even if your place of worship is unable to participate this year, you can
still join in and make a difference as an individual.
Value-add on your Ride to Worship action by taking a photo and placing it
on the 350.org photo petition to world leaders in international climate
change negotiations. It would be great if your Place of Worship registers its own Ride to Worship event on this 350 site so as to help let people in your local area know about it!
