350.org September Campaign Update

Transcript:

Hi, this is Kelly from 350.org, from our San Francisco office. We've got a very busy few months ahead of us, and we wanted to take this time to update you about what we've been up to and where we're headed.

We've spent the summer building relationships all around the world.  Phil traveled to the World Youth Congress in Quebec, Will and Govind attended the inaugural Indian Youth Climate Network conference, and Jamie and Claire, as you know, marched alongside Chinese Youth. Judit is preparing a climate change art installation with Hungarian artists, and Teresa is stepping in to manage our translation program.

So here's where we're headed: Phase 2 of our campaign begins in December, at the next UN climate change conference in Poland. This is an incredibly important meeting, and it marks a one year countdown for countries of the world to sign a global climate treaty in Copenhagen at the end of 2009. Because this Poland meeting is so important, we want to make sure the U.S. Presidential candidates commit to attend, and show the world the U.S. is back in the game and ready to play a helpful and significant role, making up for the last 8 years of inaction. Look out for an email on Oct. 7 encouraging you to invite the Presidential candidates to attend this meeting.

Here's how you can help: To build a global, diverse movement, we need to be as well connected as possible. Just by receiving this email is one step. But there's more we can do. We want to get to know you! Join our facebook group, subscribe to our Youtube channel, follow us on Twitter, and encourage your friends to do so too.

Thanks for watching!
