"A World of Thanksgiving"
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 10:30 - 12:30
As a Unitarian Universalist minister, I believe it is our action in the world as a religious community to speak prophetically to the spiritual dimensions of the climate change challenge. Worship is the work of a religious community. At the heart of our call to embrace the radical shift required of humanity in this age to live in harmony with the planet, I believe there is a deep need for spiritual renewal on a global scale. The energy to sustain a global movement for change requires new rituals that express our deep reverence and thanksgiving for all the gifts of life, and for the miracle of our spinning blue green planet Earth. In our small corner of Quebec on this Canadian Thanksgiving Sunday, we will celebrate our deep gratitude with a special communion, symbolizing our mutual inter-dependence with the entire Earth community, in thanksgiving for the very existence of our world and all with which we share the gift of life.
