Hornsby Shire Trees - Neal Park Bushland Restoration
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 10:00 - 12:00
10 October 2010 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
We will plant trees, shrubs and other plants to restore the area of Neal Park at the corner of Northcote and Sherbrook Roads. The planting and associated landscaping will create a buffer between the streets and Hornsby Creek and improve the quality of bushland in this area. After the corner is planted, we will move along Sherbrook Road to plant an area in adjoining Edgeworth David Park.
The area of bushland on Sherbrook Road between Northcote Road and Burdett Street is significant because it is located alongside one of the few remaining sections of unpiped creekline in the heavily urbanised upper Hornsby Creek Catchment area. So, we are thrilled to be able to further progress the site towards the goal of a 'restored native vegetation community'.
Nick Berman, Mayor of Hornsby Shire, will visit and plant a tree. Hornsby Council Staff will be on hand to advise and assist with our work.
