Vigil in Oakland

Friday, 11 December, 2009 - 18:00 - 19:00

Bret, please call 510-821-2108 or email jbgene@yahoo.com. Thanks Jody.

Join this "Velo Vigil” to urge governments and individuals to reduce greenhouse gas through U.S. action at the UN Climate Conference and through personal action like cycling.

This is not "Critical Mass". The goal is not to take over the street but simply demonstrate the power of personal action in addressing global problems. I'm hoping for a quiet, positive, lawful, fun event.

Bring lots of bike reflectors (to make a larger version of what you see in the photo) as well as LED lights, candles, and cameras.

Non-cyclists and kids are welcome.

Folks will start setting up the 350 sign in North courtyard of the Oakland Federal Building (that's the one on the right when you are facing the front) at 6 p.m on Friday December 11th, 2009.

~6:15 p.m. Those of us on bikes may group into a tight procession around the block while others assemble reflectors into the shape of "350".

~7:00 p.m. All will group around the 350 sign for photos.

Please invite your friends, even if you can not attend.
