wetland regeneration/native tree planting

Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 13:00 - 15:00

Help clean up the Kokotau (recently ranked MOST POLLUTED swimming spot in the Wairarapa/Wellington region).

Our regenerating wetland/bush area drains into the Ruamahanga River, just upstream from the now infamous Kokotau swimming area.

Last year we hosted a 350.org event inviting people to bring and plant locally sourced natives in our 20 acre valley. We planted nearly 300 plants, hopefully this year we can plant 350!

We have a lots of flax to divide up, trim and plant out in the wetland,
BYO spade, gumboots and flax trimmers.
