Dominicana Recicla

On 10:10 we are launching the first recycling program of the Dominican Republic, selecting one first pilot school to begin it. During the Global Work Party we will be donating the recycling bins to the schools, which the participants will be able to decorate with paint and graffiti identifying them with colors. Each one will be used for plastic, paper and cardboard, and organic. On this day we are also partnering with our friends from CicloRuta to do a bicycle rally to promote sustainable transportation. We are ending the day with an awesome presentation from Ciencia Divertida, a group that promotes environmental conservation to children with clowns, mad scientists. From there, we can bring the program to other schools and begin to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and how it contributes to the conservation of our environment. The second phase of the project will be educating the students and staff about the importance of recycling, so they can learn how to use the bins. During the third phase, Green Love, a recycling organization, will be in charge of picking up the trash and taking it to the recycling plant.
