Recycling discarded aluminium to reduce carbon pollution
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 13:00 - 15:00
Climate Action Hobart will be doing a simple recycling drive, focussed on collecting discarded aluminium drink cans (as well as other recyclables). Recycling aluminium is worth it's weight in gold as far as reducing carbon pollution is concerned, especially in Australia as it mainly uses dirty brown coal fired electricity to produce it.
Recycling a single drink can saves enough electricity to power a computer for three hours!
You can join us at the Hobart Showgrounds Sunday Market from 1 till 3pm, or in your own area (wherever you are) by collecting recyclables, especially aluminium containers of all types, on Sunday 10th October and then put them into your residential recycling bin to get them back into the system and reduce carbon pollution.
This action is supported by Environment Tasmania and by the organisers of Hobart Showgrounds Sunday Market, and local recycled junk percussion group - Grand Master Trash will be performing.
