In Kiev today, activists from the Energy Transition Coalition, Extinction Rebellion, and Fridays for Future showed up outside of the Energy and Environment Ministry. They were demanding Ukraine’s government fully commit to 100% renewable energy by 2050.
Over 14,000 Ukrainians are with them, having signed on to a petition to also shut down all coal and nuclear power plants and abandon new construction by 2035.

Cities all over the country have already made 100% renewable commitments, but the current national plan doesn’t go far enough and fails to consider communities on the frontlines of extraction.
