The COVID-19 pandemic forced the postponement of the 26th UN Climate Summit until November 2021. And we need to continue to pressure the world’s dirtiest and most powerful banks and governments to stop funding the climate crisis.
Record breaking climate impacts continue to destroy hundreds of thousands of lives and livelihoods. Why? Because banks, governments, and companies still pour public money — our money — into fossil fuel projects.
We know the solution. It’s time to make fossil fuels a thing of the past by cutting off its life support – money. And to live up to the goals set forth by the Paris Agreement, fossil fuel production must decline immediately by keeping them in the ground and swiftly advance renewable energy to take its place in the context of a just transition.
We need financial institutions and governments to commit to end fossil fuel finance. No money to fossil fuels means no new dirty projects, less pollution, and a chance to not breach 1.5°C and prevent further climate disasters.
From now until the next UN climate gathering, we will come together to pressure some of the world’s dirtiest and most powerful banks and governments to stop funding the climate crisis.
Join the community to fight for 1.5°C by stopping the funding for fossil fuels.
