TAKE ACTION

Expose Total’s human rights abuses!

If built, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) will have disastrous consequences for local communities and wildlife in Uganda and Tanzania – and for the entire planet.

In December 2022, six Ugandan and French organisations took Total – the French oil giant behind the pipeline – to court in light of the serious human rights violations and risks to the environment posed by EACOP.

If EACOP’s profits are theirs, that means the human rights abuses are theirs too!

Stand with people impacted and put pressure on Total by exposing these human rights abuses on social media.

  3. In your comment, say how angry you are about the East African Crude Oil Pipeline and the human rights abuses it’s causing and the impact it will have on the environment.
  4. Ask them why they’re still going ahead with a project that is forcing 100,000 from their land, and is responsible for journalists, activists and human rights defenders being attacked, harassed, and intimidated.
  5. Ask them to listen to communities in East Africa and drop EACOP.
  6. You can link to report by allies in our movement, Friends of the Earth France, who are part of a coalition of Ugandan and French organisations taking them to court
