I just heard from our old friend Jinty McTavish, who's actually not old at all. She's just a great organizing hand, the perfect example of the next wave of environmental organizer ready to make a real difference. And she not only spent 10/10/10 at what the Kiwis were calling the "Global Work Bee" (she was gardening), but she also just won election to the City Council in the South Island city of Dunedin. Which is already one of the finest cities I've ever visited–but I bet it will be even better now.
