I couldn't help the deep sense of pride and excitement that I felt when we received this photo from the Get Down and Dirty Bay Area hub event. 350.org's California office is located in Oakland, where we're surrounded by activists and organizations doing amazing work year-round—and yesterday those folks were out in force! Oakland's Laney College community garden got a serious face-lift on 10/10/10, and as people were getting their hands dirty, dynamic speakers including political candidates and community leaders passed the mic and the Green Energy Hip Hop Tour performed it's very first show. There were free tacos and watermelon, too!
