##### [We remade HSBC’s “Together We Thrive” ad](https://medium.com/@350/climate-activists-parodied-hsbcs-ad-and-it-s-priceless-fce4acaa8457) with a slightly different twist. In this version HSBC celebrates its true role in worsening the global climate crisis and arms-sale financing.

HSBC is holding its annual shareholders’ meeting this 12th April. Let’s take this opportunity to demand HSBC stop funding the planet’s breakdown.

Back in March 2018, HSBC announced a partial ban on financing new coal plants in response to mounting pressure from activists and campaigners. However, HSBC hasn’t ruled out funding new coal power projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam. The bank is also implicated in tens of billions in loans to arms companies.

Whether it’s supporting arms sales or financing the extraction of fossil fuels, HSBC is profiting from death and destruction.

**Our struggle for peace and climate justice are inseparable. HSBC must stop financing dirty energy projects everywhere and cut its business ties with companies that sell weapons and other technology used in war crimes and violence around the world.**

Fueling war and warming is incompatible with a safe, equitable, and peaceful future for everyone. Let’s ensure HSBC shareholders hear the people’s demand loud and clear.
