350 PILIPINAS GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE / NOVEMBER 15 2024.
November 15, 2024 – In solidarity with the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice, civil society organizations, churches, labor and human rights groups, and educational institutions are mobilizing at various locations in Quezon City to demand climate justice. They are calling for a ramp-up of fossil fuel phaseout, prioritization of a just transition and climate finance, and a stand against war and genocide amid COP29. Simultaneous mobilizations took place at various meeting points along Commonwealth Ave., Visayas Ave., East Ave., Kalayaan Ave., and at Claret School before proceeding to the program on Commonwealth Ave. The Global Day of Action for Climate Justice is a collaborative campaign co-organized by Philippine Movement for Climate Justice, Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development, Task Force Detainees, 350.org Asia, 350 Pilipinas, Caritas Philippines, CMSP – Conference of Major Superiors in the Philippines, NCL, Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino, Sanlakas, Federation of Free Workers (FFW), Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC), Philippine-Miserior Partnership Inc, Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA), Oriang, K4K-QC, Freedom from Debt Coalition, NGO Forum on ADB, KAMPILAN( Kapisanan ng Aping Manggagawa ng PIlipinas LAban Nagsasamantala, Alyansa Tigil Mina, Workers for Just Transition, NAPC Formal Labor, Legal Rights and Natural Resources Center.
