I woke up this morning, looked at my calendar, and remembered what I was doing last year at this time, during the International Day of Climate Action. Last year's events on October 24 inspired the world to focus attention on itself, and particularly, on the \"sites\/all\/files\/un_jumping.jpg\"global movement for climate solutions. This all took place in time to make a strong showing to world leaders, prior to the Copenhagen climate negotiations, that the world expected leadership.<\/p>\n

This year, on October 10, we made lemonade out of the lemons from Copenhagen, and showed the world just how committed we all are to the transition away from fossil fuels.<\/p>\n

Whenever you set out a very big goal, like organizating a global mass protest, there are many accompanying risks. That's why I continue to be so amazed that so many communities–thousands–took up the cause on 10\/10\/10.<\/p>\n

This is a photo (taken by the very special Shadia Fayne Wood, who is largely responsible for that incredible slideshow you see at the top of the page) of part of our global team celebrating last year's victory in front of the UN headquarters in New York City.<\/p>\n
