## The Pledge Cont.

#### **Right now, as we are able, we commit to:**

- **Visibly and vocally support** [the Movement for Black Lives and their demands](https://m4bl.org/week-of-action/), including divestment from police and reinvestment in Black communities.
- **Show up in support** of Black-led mobilizations and protests in our communities.
- **Give money and resources** to Black-led organizations to support work for racial justice [(this list of local bail funds is a great place to start)](https://secure.actblue.com/donate/350-bail-funds?refcode=blm-pledge).
- **Ask our white and non-Black POC friends, family and neighbors to join us in action**, and take the time to engage them in conversations about why the struggle for racial justice is happening, and critical to all our liberation. ([Showing Up for Racial Justice](https://www.showingupforracialjustice.org/) has great resources for white people on this work like [this one](https://medium.com/@surj_action/5-ways-white-people-can-take-action-in-response-to-white-and-state-sanctioned-violence-2bb907ba5277) and [this one](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1w2CLrQqhyHkPQy1z_OaUR4Nzjej2syKPSb2MMAnZB2w/edit?link_id=2&can_id=b11d1220cd4186040ca7351074b890bc&source=email-endwhitesilence-action-planning-follow-up-and-next-steps&email_referrer=email_818989&email_subject=endwhitesilence-action-planning-follow-up-and-next-steps)).

#### **As we continue to fight for climate justice, we commit to ensuring our work addresses the racial injustice that is at the core of the climate crisis. We will:**

- **Fight for a just recovery** from the COVID-19 pandemic that prioritizes Black communities hit hardest by the virus and supports the [Movement for Black Lives’ COVID-19 Policy Platform. ](https://m4bl.org/covid-19-platform/)
- **Demand a Green New Deal** that centers racial and economic justice by investing in Black community and worker needs and divesting from systems of white supremacy like the police and prisons.
- **Build a multiracial climate movement** that shows up to defend Black life, through campaigns that center Black communities and by supporting the demands and campaigns of the Movement for Black Lives.

With Black lives on the line, whether from police violence or climate catastrophe, there is no time for neutrality. We commit to take action, and to invite our white and non-Black people of color family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to join us.

Written with gratitude for the leaders of the Movement for **Black Lives, Reclaim the Block, Black Visions Collective, and everyone taking the streets** for a more just world for all of us.
