Manhattan, particularly Lower Manhattan, is quite vulnerable to sea level rise, so a group of stalwart New Yorkers came out to hoist this giant dot in Battery Park. If you squint, you can see the Statue of Libery in the background!

Now this bunch of people is off putting up dots throughout the rest of the city today, including bringing buckets of water to a handful of banks on Wall Street. The idea being: their investments in coal and oil drive climate change, so the water’s a reminder that if they keep it up, the East River might lap up on the doorstep!
