350.org on Trump’s Congressional Address

Washington, DC — Tonight, Donald Trump delivered his first address to Congress. In response, 350.org Executive Director May Boeve issued the following statement:

“Every time Trump mentions pipelines or coal mines, it strengthens our resolve to fight them. He repeated the same tired lies about creating jobs with Keystone XL and Dakota Access, but said nothing about the millions of jobs that could be created by a transition to 100% renewable energy. Trump’s plans and policies are direct barriers to justice, and he can expect resistance at every turn. Tonight’s address is just more evidence that we need people power, not empty words, to build a better future.”

Trump’s address comes as communities across the country and around the world are mobilizing for the People’s Climate March in Washington, DC on April 29. Trump’s greed and corruption has newly activated tens of thousands of people to resist his destructive, hateful regime.
