Vancouver, BC – Today, in response to George Heyman, BC’s Minister of the Environment and Climate Change Strategy, announcement of BC’s steps to oppose the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion, Cameron Fenton, Canada Strategy & Communications Manager with 350.org, issued this response:

“Today’s announcement from the BC government is an example of leaders listening to the people and listening to the science of climate change. Kinder Morgan has neither permission from the people – especially Indigenous peoples – nor permits from the government of BC. This project cannot move forward – end of story. It’s great to see the provincial government taking this strong stand for the climate and for Indigenous rights. Justin Trudeau should start taking notes.”
