Toronto, ON – In response to the Government of Canada’s fall economic statement, Amara Possian, Canada Campaign Director with 350.org issued this response;
“Chrystia Freeland is right that so many people and communities are in need of support right now, and that’s why we simply can’t afford to continue to waste billions on the Trans Mountain pipeline. The government’s own energy regulator made it clear that this pipeline makes no economic sense. TMX will blow our climate commitments and divert billions of public dollars away from where they’re really needed. It’s time to defund Trans Mountain and put this money where it can do the most good”.
