Decision on fossil free European Investment Bank postponed

The European Investment Bank decided today to again postpone the adoption of its new Energy Lending Policy, which proposes to end financing of fossil fuel projects.

Tim Ratcliffe, Europe Campaign Manager at 350.org comments:

“The climate crisis requires that we stop pouring money into coal, oil and gas projects urgently. There is no time to lose. Germany and the European Commission have been working hard to poke loopholes into the proposed policy, which leave the door open for funding of dangerous gas projects. They had better take note of the masses of people mobilising for climate justice who won’t let fossil fuel funders get away with it any longer.”
