350.org on Judge Kinkeade canceling Mass. AG deposition

New York, NY — In response to U.S. District Court Judge Ed Kinkeade issuing a one-sentence ruling canceling tomorrow’s unprecedented ruling for Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey to be deposed in Texas court, Jamie Henn, 350.org Communications Director issued the follow statement:

“Exxon has been lashing out in the dark, fueled by its own paranoia. These are the actions of a guilty party, attacking public officials and environmental groups instead of owning up to its own record. We’re hopeful that Judge Kinkeade’s decision is followed by a decision to throw-out Exxon’s bogus attempts to stop Attorney General Healey’s lawful and reasonable investigation into the company’s climate coverup. If Exxon spent nearly as much time supporting renewable energy as it did suing its critics, we wouldn’t have gotten into this mess in the first place.”
