In response to the BC Court of Appeal decision on the proposed heavy oil transport regulations, Cameron Fenton, a Vancouver-based organizer with 350.org’s Canada Team issued this response.
“This decision makes it crystal clear that responding to the climate emergency is squarely in Justin Trudeau’s hands.
Canada is on track for catastrophic warming if we keep building projects like TransMountain. The people need to know whether Justin Trudeau is going to keep bowing to big oil, or if he will listen to young people, to students, to Indigenous peoples, to science and to the tens of thousands of us telling him that it’s time for a made-in-Canada Green New Deal”.
