350.org Responds to the US House of Representatives Second Impeachment of Donald Trump

Washington, DC — The US House of Representatives voted to impeach Donald Trump for the second time within a year, charging him with “incitement of insurrection” due to his role in his supporter’s violent, white supremacist attack on the U.S. Capitol last week. Ten Republicans joined the Democrats in voting to impeach Trump, the most votes for impeachment from the president’s own party in history. The impeachment resolution will now be sent to the Senate.

May Boeve, 350.org Executive Director, gave the following response:

“Four disastrous years, two impeachments, more than a hundred climate rollbacks, incitement of mass white supremacist violence, and permanently kicked off Twitter. We aren’t just firing Donald Trump, we’re kicking his racist ego to the curb. Good riddance.”

350.org is part of a growing movement demanding: (1) Trump be removed from current, and disqualified from future, office; (2) Expel members of Congress who tried to block the clear and legitimate Biden-Harris election win; and (3) Investigate the security response to hold accountable those responsible for this assault on our democracy.
