Zinke Rides Off Into Ignominy

Washington, D.C. — The Trump Administration announced this morning that scandal plagued Secretary of the Interior would be leaving his post at the end of this year. Zinke oversaw the gutting of major national monuments and the sale of hundreds of thousands of acres of public land to fossil fuel industry exploitation.
May Boeve, 350.org Executive Director, issued the following statement:
“Secretary Zinke turned the Interior Department into a wholly owned subsidiary of fossil fuel companies. Now that Zinke’s corrupt tenure is coming to an end, Congress must ensure that his successor actually protects our public lands, rather than sell them off to be mined, drilled, and polluted.”
