The Senate is running an inquiry into fracking in the Beetaloo Basin in the NT and the Government’s plans to give $50million to oil and gas companies.  

The Government’s plans are outrageous -- Aboriginal communities have been fiercely opposing fracking on their land for years, opening up new oil and gas basins would be a disaster for our climate and it threatens precious water supplies.  

Tell the committee why you don’t support public money being given to fracking companies in the NT. 

Things you could include: 

• Aboriginal communities have said no.
• It’s greenhouse gas emissions would be huge, nearly a quarter of Australia’s emissions. 
• Things you would prefer the Government spends money on like healthcare or renewable energy.
