Ever wonder how global climate change and global poverty are related? The connections are many; but sometimes, it’s hard to explain how it all fits together.

Thankfully, our friends at Germanwatch produced a short film about Carbon Debt–whereby developing countries pay, through climate change impacts, for the Carbon-intensive lifestyles of developed countries. It’s one of the greatest challenges of our time, and one of the reasons that a truly global deal in Copenhagen is so important. This film dramatizes this conflict very well, and we hope you’ll share it with your friends.

If you’d like to learn more about climate change and global poverty, we’ll refer you to our allies at EcoEquity, Oxfam, Christian Aid (who just produced a short campaign video on poverty), and Global Exchange. These groups, and many others, are doing vital work to highlight both the challenges and solutions to ensure a clean development pathway for all.
