The Gaia Women of the Great Lakes Basin remind us  that 35 million people in the US and Canada rely on the Great Lakes for drinking water. Climate change is warming the Great Lakes waters and bringing more frequent heavy rainfall, overwhelming waste water infrastructure and sending sewage into the lakes. Fertilizer carried by increased runoff is causing blue green algae in some areas, generating toxins that imperil fish, animals, and humans.
