September 2: Power Hour Call – Demand a Budget for People & Planet
As we emerge from a summer of extreme heat and devastating wildfires, the Canadian government is rushing to build another toxic pipeline on the public dime and Canada’s top oil companies are reporting record-breaking wartime profits.
Join us for a POWER HOUR to take concrete action. We say NO to pipelines while Canada burns. Not on our dime, not on our watch. We must make Big Oil pay for climate chaos. We need a budget that works for people and the planet, not for oil and gas companies.

September 12 – 14: The Many vs the Money (Crash Carney’s CEO Summit in Toronto)
This September, the CEOs of BlackRock, Blackstone and other representatives of the global 1% are coming to Toronto at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Carney’s plan is to simultaneously auction off Canadian public resources and infrastructure, and finance destructive megaprojects like AI data centers, weapons factories, and toxic pipelines.
The money have their summit – on September 12-14, we’re organizing our own. This is a multi-day movement-building event with special guest speakers, workshops, cultural programming, and an opportunity to crash Carney’s CEO Summit.
September 19: Ottawa–Gatineau Climate March
The 2026 Ottawa Climate March is happening on Saturday, September 19, 2026. We gather at 9:30 AM at Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau before marching to downtown Ottawa, holding rallies at key locations along the way to make our voices heard.
Why are we marching?
While the rest of the world advances on climate action, Canada is falling behind—recently ranking 21st out of 22 Western countries on the Global Performance Index. The federal government has canceled, delayed, or watered down key policies, including consumer and industrial carbon pricing, EV mandates, methane regulations, emissions caps, and clean electricity rules. At the same time, billions in taxpayer funds are slated for export pipelines and gas-powered AI data centers.
September 19 – 24: Seniors’ Climate Witness: A Week of Public Witness and Nonviolent Action in Ottawa
This event will call on the Government of Canada to reject new fossil fuel pipelines, uphold its climate commitments, respect Indigenous rights, and protect a livable future for our children, grandchildren, and future generations.
Seniors have a unique opportunity to use their voices and experience to help protect the future for those who will live longest with the consequences of today’s decisions. Many participants are also motivated by faith and a commitment to care for Creation, seek justice, and be good ancestors for future generations.

September 20: Cross-Country Day of Action for Migrant Rights
Migrants make Canada work. They care for children and elders, grow food, build homes and keep communities running.
But the government is pushing migrants out. Millions of permits are expiring or being refused, deportations are increasing and refugees are under attack. Migrants did not create the housing and jobs crisis. Blaming migrants only protects the landlords, corporations and wealthy people profiting from high rents, low wages and cuts to public services.
On Sunday, September 20, migrants and allies will take to the streets in Toronto, Vancouver and other cities at the 5th Annual Cross-Country Day of Action for Migrant Justice.
We will march for equal rights, permanent resident status for all and a future where no one is exploited or deported because of where they were born.
September 23: Grassy Narrows River Run Rally (Toronto, with buses from across Ontario)
Grassy Narrows First Nation has secured a historic ban on logging on their territory for the next 10 years and won important promises to clean their river and build a Mercury Care Home. They have the longest-running blockade in Canadian history, which has helped foster Indigenous resistance across Turtle Island and saved 15 million trees from being cut. But so much is still needed to right the wrong of mercury poisoning in Grassy Narrows.
On Wednesday September 23rd, 2026, community members and leaders will travel 1,700km from Grassy Narrows to Toronto to demand that Ontario and Canada:
- Compensate everyone in Grassy Narrows fairly for the mercury crisis
- End the pollution by stopping the Dryden mill and ending mining and nuclear waste plans that threaten Grassy Narrows
- Support Grassy Narrows in restoring their community and way of life from the damage that mercury has done
Walk with Grassy Narrows youth and community members to show that we are with them on their path to achieve mercury justice and freedom!
