“Approve Kinder Morgan, Fail on Climate & Indigenous Rights” – 350.org Responds to Kinder Morgan Panel Report

In response to the release of the Government of Canada Ministerial Panel on Kinder Morgan’s final report,  Clayton Thomas-Muller, 350.org’s Stop-it-at-the-Source campaigner issued this response.

“Today’s report by the Prime Minister’s panels is clear – if Justin Trudeau greenlights the Kinder Morgan pipeline, he is going to fail on climate change and Indigenous rights. The questions raised by his own panel, about how Canada can square this pipeline with climate commitments and promises to respect Indigenous rights remain unanswered and so Trudeau’s only option is to reject Kinder Morgan.

Last week 99 youth were arrested on Parliament Hill opposing this project, today there are two sit-ins at the offices of Ministers Jim Carr and Carolyn Bennett for the same reason. People across Canada know that climate leaders don’t build pipelines, and we’re hoping that the Prime Minister knows it too.”
