Thousands of people came together in France to protest against fracking and deep water drilling beginning of April. French grassroots activists already won a ban on fracking after protests took place all around the country in 2011.

Now French activists are widening their protests and demand a stop on all oil drilling techniques that are harmful to the environment, water, local communities and/or the health of people. And those protests show already first results with one offshore deep water drilling permit not being extended.

But in the middle of the French presidential elections activists and local communities are not resting as they hope to fight many more permits in the coming weeks.

Keep up the good work!
