The effort to fully cap the Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico seems to be reaching a more hopeful point. Today, BP technicians will pour massive amounts of thick mud near the well's bottom, and if that works, cement will follow. No one seems very optimistic that any of these tech fixes will work the first time around, but for the sake of the Gulf region and its people, we sure hope this is successful, and that clean-up efforts are expedited once the well is finally, finally sealed.

If you're looking for some inspiration amid the bad news, I highly encourage watching his video that Devon Yesberger just sent us. He's written a lovely tune called "Stop the Spill," which reflects the urgency and sincere hope all of us are feeling.
