After an upset election victory in Alberta by the left-leaning New Democratic Party, 350.org spokesman Cameron Fenton issued the following response:
“When a progressive political party wins in the heart of oil country, it’s clear something big is happening. This is a huge win, and changes the math on tar sands — giving us a better hope than ever of leaving one of the planet’s biggest carbon bombs underground. With Alberta’s new Premier stopping the province’s push for Keystone XL, all that’s left is for President Obama to do his part, heed the message sent by Canadian voters, and formally reject the pipeline for good.”
