About 350 UK

Our work

In the UK, our work focuses on a couple of key campaigns and projects, all focused on using people power to dismantle the power of the fossil fuel industry and build a safe climate and just world.

At the moment we are focused on:

  1. Building the movement for a Green New Deal
  2. Campaigning the Bank of England for Fossil Free Finance
  3. Working towards the 2021 Glasgow UN Climate Talks

In the past our main campaigns have been for fossil fuel divestment and stopping fracking. The divestment movement is still going strong across the UK, head to the Fossil Free UK website to get involved.

Our team

350.org is a global organisation with staff based all over the world. In the UK, our small team works with volunteers, networks and partners as part of the climate justice movement.

About 350.org

350.org was founded in 2008 by a group of university friends in the United States along with author Bill McKibben, who wrote one of the first books on global warming for the general public. The goal was to build a global climate movement. 350 was named after 350 parts per million — the safe concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Today 350 works on  campaigns across the globe: from opposing coal plants and mega-pipelines, to supporting renewable energy solutions and cutting financial flows to fossil fuels. All of our work leverages people power to dismantle the influence and infrastructure of the fossil fuel industry.
