If there’s one big  country on the planet that will bear the worst first  effects of climate change, it’s probably Bangladesh–already salt is pushing inland as the Bay of Bengal rises, the glaciers that water the Ganges and Brahmaputra are melting fast, and dengue is taking a real toll. Displaced Bangladeshis, no longer able to farm their land, are converging on the swelling megacity of Dhaka. And the people of the country have done literally nothing to cause the problem–you can barely measure their carbon emissions. But they are willing to be part of a solution–we’ve got reports coming in of rallies across the country. Thanks to all our friends in the country’s incredibly vigorous civil society!
