Many of us coordinating the 350.org campaign hail originally from Vermont–from Middlebury, in particular. And as we’ve fanned out around the world organizing in places we didn’t even know existed, we’ve entirely neglected our home, completely confident that the wonderful folks of Addison County would take the 350 initiative on their own. We were right. Saturday morning on Middlebury Green yoga legend Joanna Colwell will be leading 350 sun salutations. There will be a 350 minute (that’s almost 6 hours) drum circle. Most of the churches are ringing their bells 350 times. And in the most traditional of New England gestures, there will be a 350-dish potluck supper on the town green. We wish we could be there, and we hope they’ll save us some pie.
